Cultivating Gardens and Hearts
For those of you who might not know, my book, 'Garden My Heart,' was first released in 2023. At the time of its publishing, I was navigating a difficult period of personal grief, having just lost my beloved grandmother. The idea of a book launch felt overwhelming, and so, the official celebration of 'Garden My Heart' didn’t happen. Fast forward to last week, and I finally had the wonderful opportunity to exhibit my book and, more importantly, engage with a reading audience for the very first time at the SAICA in 4Sight Summit. The Summit was held at Gallagher Convention Centre and there was a handful of Chartered Accountant / Authors showcasing their books so I was in good company. It was a great experience; one that allowed me to finally share my gardeners heart.
It was fascinating to connect with the brilliant minds from the accounting profession. Many admitted they had never truly considered the profound connection between themselves, nature, and the simple act of growing food in a garden. To witness their curiosity bloom as we discussed the themes within 'Garden My Heart' was so rewarding. It reminded me that regardless of our professional paths, the desire for grounding, connection to nature and growth is universal.
A huge, heartfelt thank you to every single person who stopped by my exhibit, picked up a copy of 'Garden My Heart' and a jar of honey, and who shared their thoughts and stories with me. Your engagement, your questions, and your willingness to explore new perspectives was refreshing. It’s a privilege to know that my words are finding a home in your hands and, hopefully, in your hearts.
And to my incredible gardening community – those who have been with me on this journey from the very beginning, who connect with me daily on social media, share their triumphs and tribulations, and inspire me with their passion – thank you. Your support and shared love for the garden have been a constant source of encouragement. I am ever grateful for the collective growth of our little gardening community. I'm excited to see where these new connections lead and to continue this beautiful journey of cultivating both gardens and hearts.
Thank you, Garden Gang!
